Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited by the news they’ve been informed of today, which states the Blues are pursuing to high-profile targets.
The Daily Mirror states Chelsea have received a boost in the quest to land Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus and the west London side are also pushing for the signature of Borussia Dortmund ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
28-year-old Bonucci, who helped Juventus land their fifth successive Serie A title this week, has worked with incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte for the last five years at club and international level but the European giants insisted he would not leave Turin this summer.
However, Bonucci himself may have other ideas as he refused to rule-out an exit from the Italian giants this summer:
“I haven’t said anything yet. The question hasn’t been asked, so I can’t say either yes or no.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also keen to add 27-year-old Armenia international Mkhitaryan to their ranks but they face a test to lure the 18-goal ace away from Dortmund, due to the Blues lack of involvement in European football next season.
Our landlord believes Bonucci will be the man that comes in to replace John Terry but he can’t see Mkhitaryan following suit, as he feels the established Dortmund man will elect to remain in Germany.
Chelsea fans, which of these two targets is the most important? Let us know in the comments below!
