Metro have a claim that has put a smile on the faces of Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that the club have moved a step closer to signing forward Hulk.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, the player had been in London this week and we thought that could well be a sign that a move or at least negotiations could well be on the way.
Now it seems that will almost certainly be the case, with Hulk desperate to leave the hell that his Russian adventure has turned into at Zenit Saint Petersburg, and Jose Mourinho on the hunt for a top class forward.
Over a game of pool, our landlord reminds us that Chelsea are still considering other options and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa still remains high on their wishlist, but with Hulk slightly more available, we think the West London club might move for him instead.
Hulk will cost around £40 million and his agent claimed that a move in the summer could not be ruled out, noting: “English clubs still have the highest chance of signing him.”
We think that could well be what we in the tavern call a come and get me plea.
Who are Chelsea more likely to land this summer? Hulk or Diego Costa? Let us know your thoughts below.
