The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted about this…
Diego Costa has, undoubtedly, been the star of the Chelsea show so far this season.
The Spanish forward has looked unstoppable, and given that he currently sits atop the Premier League goalscoring charts – he looks likely to be vital for Chelsea’s success as the season progresses.
There was, then, a palpable sense of concern amongst the Chelsea faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern when the news emerged that Diego Costa had been sent home from international duty ahead of Spain’s clash with England.
Costa, who has been injury prone in the past, has reportedly been suffering with an injury over the last week – and that has led to concern amongst the Blues faithful that he could miss the game against Middlesbrough this weekend.
However, in news that will no doubt delight the Chelsea faithful, according to the Sun – Diego Costa is set to be fit and ready to line-up on Sunday.
They add that the groin injury, which saw him miss Spain’s second international fixture, has been resolved after undergoing intensive therapy all week.
Costa’s return from injury is timely for the Blues, given the significance that will be placed upon the game against Middlesbrough. Chelsea have a few tough games coming up over the next few weeks against the likes of Tottenham and Man City – and points appear likely to be dropped against those sides.
Our landlord thinks that the Middlesbrough clash is a very winnable game, and simply put – the Blues must win in order to stay in contention at the top.
