Big news for the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Chelsea may have enjoyed an excellent start to the 2016/17 Premier League season – but Antonio Conte is seemingly far from finished building his perfect team.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calcio Mercato), Chelsea are back in the race for coveted Serie A duo Radja Nainggolan and Kostas Manolas – both of whom the Blues reportedly failed in moves for over the summer.
They add that contractual issues are the main motivations behind Chelsea’s renewed interest, with Nainggolan growing frustrated at a lack of wage movement and Manolas not yet offered a deal that he feels is sufficient.
This could be huge for the Blues, as both players are central to AS Roma in Serie A at present.
Manolas is a towering, powerful central defender whom could serve as the heir-apparent to John Terry, whilst Radja Nainggolan offers a powerful figure in the heart of the midfield that Chelsea have lacked this year.
The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that Conte will be able to conclude at least one of these deals in the new year…
