The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted at recent reports that Rangers starlet Billy Gilmour looks set to join the club this summer…
According to Goal.com, the Blues have agreed a deal that will bring the 15-year-old to the club at the end of the season, with the midfielder reportedly able to join the club after his next birthday on the 11th of June 2017.
A natural midfielder, Gilmour has recently made the step up and started training with the Rangers first team despite his tender years, which certainly hints at just how good he is.
This report has certainly made the Blues in the pub put their drinks down and listen, with Chelsea’s ever-growing developmental academy continuing to include some of Europe’s most impressive young talents.
Indeed, it is a very exciting time to be a fan of Chelsea, with young players like Ola Aina and Nathaniel Chalobah beginning to make an imprint within the Chelsea first team and young stars like Gilmour seemingly entering the fray.
Given his age, our landlord is not expecting Gilmour to make an impact anytime soon, but there is hope amongst the Blues in the pub that he will be able to ply his trade with the Chelsea first team going forward.
