The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get concerned at the lack of progress in the Chelsea attack this summer…
Diego Costa looks certain to leave the club, and with the 2017/18 Premier League season edging closer with every passing day, Chelsea look no closer to signing a new top forward.
However, according to Spanish reporter Manu Sainz on Twitter, the Blues could find a solution in a surprising place. Sainz is reporting that Chelsea are keen on a move for Sergio Aguero, and Man City boss Pep Guardiola is said to have given the green light to any prospective deal.
Me cuentan que el Chelsea quiere al Kun Agüero. Guardiola ya habría dado el ok a la operación…

Aguero, of course, is facing an uncertain future at the Etihad following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian moved to the Etihad in January and despite Aguero’s form remaining solid, he quickly displaced the Argentine in the first team. A subsequent injury forced Aguero back into Guardiola’s plans, but the long-term future of the attacker remains decidedly uncertain.
Despite Guardiola’s apparent lack of faith in the 29-year-old, the Argentine had a stellar season last year – bagging a remarkable 20 league goals for the Citizens.
Whilst the fans in the Transfer Tavern may prefer an option from elsewhere, a move for Aguero does make a lot of sense for the Blues. He is proven in the Premier league, and if Guardiola is ready to sell him, Chelsea could also look to get a good deal for the Argentine this summer.
Our landlord isn’t sure that a move for Aguero will happen, but he thinks that there would be no better player for the Blues and Chelsea are 7/4 to sign Aguero from Man City.
