The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to the new season…
It has been a great summer for the Blues so far, and with several weeks still to go until the window closes, there is still more than enough time for Antonio Conte to land a few more big names.
This is what makes a recent report from the Sun particularly interesting, with the publication noting that the Blues are considering a host of moves over the coming weeks, including one that offers particular interest. According to the Sun, Chelsea are looking at breakout Everton man Tom Davies at present, with the Englishman impressing last season for the Toffees.
Davies became a regular under Ronald Koeman last year, with the midfielder delivering impressive, dynamic attacking performances week-after-week whilst representing the Toffees.
For Chelsea, a move for Davies would represent far more than just the signing of a good player. He is also a player of tremendous potential, and – perhaps most importantly – his homegrown status is crucial given Chelsea’s relative lack of talent in that regard.
That said, Everton aren’t likely to want to sell their prized young talent, and so if Chelsea decide to follow up on their interest, they can expect to pay big money.
