Chelsea reportedly set to make offer to bring 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Antonio Conte is going to put his mark on his side this summer…

Last season was a successful one for the Italian boss, culminating in a Premier League title win, but next season is likely to be even harder. With sides improving and recruiting around him, Conte is now playing catch up as he looks to improve his side.

Clearly, though, the Blues are trying their best to recruit – and according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter – Chelsea are set to launch another big bid soon. Romano, reporting on Twitter, has revealed that Chelsea will look to make a fresh bid for Alex Sandro in the near future, with Antonio Conte clearly desperate to land the Brazilian.

Since moving to Juventus in 2015, Sandro has emerged as one of Europe’s most impressive defenders, and arguably one of the best left-backs in the world. Very efficient going forward, Sandro would likely be a perfect fit in Chelsea’s wing-back system. The defensive side of his game is strong, too, and there is no better manager to improve that aspect of Sandro’s play than Antonio Conte.

Of course, a player of his quality won’t come cheap, and so his signing would certainly set Chelsea back financially, but he would undoubtedly improve the quality of the Blues’ first team ten-fold.
