Chelsea reportedly still keen on £64m-rated Man Utd target ahead of transfer window

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see a few new faces at Stamford Bridge this summer, and whilst the Blues are still celebrating their title win, it seems as though their summer transfer list is growing ever longer…

According to Marca, Chelsea could look to rival Man Utd in pursuit of Real Madrid man James Rodriguez this summer – with Los Blancos rating the Columbian at around €75 million (£64 million).

Though there is no mention of an impending bid from the Blues, Chelsea’s interest certainly hints at what Antonio Conte could be looking to do at Stamford Bridge this summer – with some reinforcement in the Chelsea attack seemingly on the cards.

Certainly, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see a fair few players join the club this summer – despite the recent success of the first team. Now that the dust has settled following the Blues’ Premier League trophy win, many in the pub are now concerned for the future.

Chelsea made very few changes this season, and this is something that Conte will not be able to do next season – particularly with the increased fixture congestion with the return of the Champions League.

Our landlord thinks that the signing of James Rodriguez would certainly be a good place to start.
