The Telegraph are running reports that are making all of the Stamford Bridge lads get the pints in, it is thought that Chelsea have gone in with yet another bid to try and prize John Stones away from Everton.
In a bid that is thought to be worth £30 million, it comes off the back of an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Man City at the weekend and with John Terry shockingly substituted there are rumours here in the Tavern that Stones could feature as a first-team starter this season, should he make the move to London.
However, after recent developments reports now suggest that Everton will scrap their original asking price of £34 million and demand an incredible fee of £40 million for the young central defender.
Our resident Chelsea fans enjoying a beer and burger special here in the Transfer Tavern feel that signing Stones is essential now, with them all agreeing he looks like he will be the natural successor to John Terry!
