Chelsea fans inside the Transfer Tavern have been given a small glimpse into next season today, with a reveal for their new kit for the 2016/17 campaign.
Given the fact that the home strip must remain blue with a white finish, it’s not surprising to see the kit looking similar to what we expect but the three-stripe Adidas look gives Chelsea’s new strip a professional look.
At first glance the shirt may appear with minimal changes but a closer inspection reveals some big additions, all of which are very smart.
Firstly, a white collar replaces the blue one used during the 2015/16 season and the most notable difference is the white lines under the armpit down to the bottom of the shirt. Our favourite addition though is the lion pattern emblazoned onto the fabric, which looks stunning but isn’t in-your-face.
Chelsea will wear their new kit for the first time this weekend away against relegation threatened Sunderland and a further two times before the end of the season, before it becomes the standard look for the Blues next term.
