Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of vast changes to their squad this summer and they’re pleased to see themselves linked with an exciting winger- although this news hasn’t gone down well with our contingent of Liverpool supporters.
French outlet L’Equipe state Chelsea are the latest club to express interest in Nice’s in-form winger Hatem Ben Arfa, who previously flopped in the Premier League during spells with Newcastle United and Hull City.
The 29-year-old French international has revitalised his career with one of Ligue 1’s surprise packages this season, as his 16 goals put him behind only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Lacazette in the scoring charts, whilst Nice are chasing a shock Champions League spot.
However, Ben Arfa’s contract with the French side expires this summer and Chelsea are ready to rival Liverpool, AC Milan and Villarreal for the player’s signature.
Chelsea must prepare for the possibility of losing key-players like Eden Hazard over the course of the summer, whilst many of their squad will be jaded after Euro 2016 and Copa America exploits, so fans in the bar are keen to see Ben Arfa come in to bolster the depth.
Will Ben Arfa return to the Premier League this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
