Chelsea rivalling Premier League sides for quality Serie A midfielder

ConteChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have started to have dust fall on their heads over by the sofas, as they haven’t moved in over a week whilst they wait for confirmation of their next manager.

Antonio Conte is widely expected to succeed Guus Hiddink after this summer’s European Championship tournament in France and it seems the Italian boss is ready to raid his home nation for talent.

CalcioMercato state Chelsea are the latest side to express interest in AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura, who could leave the San Siro outfit this summer in his search for chances at European football level.

Bonaventura has impressed with Milan since joining from Atalanta two years ago but the Serie A outfit are no longer the giants they used to be and are struggling to assure themselves of European football next term, with the dream of a return to the Champions League being quite a stretch.

As such, the 26-year-old has been linked with an exit from Milan and Conte, formerly Juventus manager, is ready to fight Liverpool and Manchester City for the signature of the experienced midfielder.

Our landlord believes this would be a good deal for the Blues but has warned the fans that they face immense competition for the player’s signature.

Chelsea fans, is Bonaventura a good candidate to bolster your midfield ranks? Let us know in the comments below!
