Chelsea seemingly second favourites to move for powerful South American forward this week

Chelsea are supposedly interested in the services of West Bromwich Albion striker, Salomon Rondon, a strange idea for the punters propping up the bar here in the Transfer Tavern. Indeed, while they are desperate for a new signing, recent targets touted in the press have proven to be fairly underwhelming.

Bookies BetVictor make Chelsea just 4/1t to make a move for West Bromwich Albion forward, Salomon Rondon in their pursuit to sign a striker this January window.

The Blues’ proposed move for AS Roma striker, Edin Dzeko, is seemingly in the balance. Thus, Chelsea have opted to divert their attention towards alternative targets.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the former Zenit striker. However, it seems that competition has emerged in the form of Antonio Conte’s team, who are actively looking to reinforce their forward line.

Landlord’s verdict

The 28-year-old has proven to be a menace for West Brom, having scored 23 goals during two-and-a-half seasons with the Midlands club. While the Venezuelan forward clearly isn’t as prolific as Morata, he would be a powerful and decent deputy for the Spaniard. The Blues have been linked with worse players than Rondon over the course of recent weeks.
