Chelsea set price for second striker deal of the summer

Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern could finally celebrate yesterday when the Blues confirmed they had reached an agreement with Spanish giants Real Madrid over the transfer of striker Alvaro Morata.

The resident Blues fans here in the bar had been down-heartened when rivals Manchester United pipped them to the signing of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, however, now they have something to smile about.

With the deal for the Spaniard now only subject to personal terms and a medical, the Premier League champions are moving onto the next striker deal which needs clearing up, Diego Costa.

Last season’s top scorer in west London looks all but certain to be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer after being told by manager Antonio Conte that he is no longer in his plans at the club.

However, the Blues won’t be selling for the sake of it. According to reports from The Independent, Chelsea are demanding a fee of £44m to entertain a deal for the 28-year-old.

The Spanish international is expected to return to former club Atletico Madrid, from whom he joined the Blues three years ago for a fee of £32m.

Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think the club will get such a fee for Costa? Would you like to see him stay put? Let us know…
