The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have wanted him to come to the Premier League for years…
La Liga has often been the hub of European talent – with many of the continent’s hottest stars prioritising a move to the Spanish league over any other in the world.
For many players, like Luis Suarez and Luka Modric, this move works out – but for many more; it simply doesn’t work.
Isco, despite undergoing somewhat of a resurgence over the last few months, has often struggled to break into the first team at Real Madrid – with the breadth of talent available to the likes of Ancelotti, Zidane and Benitez over the years often resulting in a bit-part role for the Spaniard.
It would appear as though a number of English sides have noted Isco’s relative lack of game time at the Bernabeu, then, with Diario Gol reporting that Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all keen on the Spaniard.
Diario Gol have noted that Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal have all put in an offer for Isco – and significantly, they also note that Isco himself has been tempted by a move. It seems that unless the Spaniard returns to the forefront for Los Blancos, he could look to force through a move. A contract renewal at Madrid is reportedly not off the cards, but it appears unlikely unless Zidane can guarantee him game time.
This has generated quite the excitement in the Football Transfer Tavern, given how rarely a top player makes the jump from the likes of Real Madrid into the Premier League.
An exciting, technical attacking midfielder – Isco would be perfect for the Premier League, and could follow the likes of Ozil and Mata in making the number 10 role his own.
Our landlord thinks that whilst any deal is far away from completion, the trio of Premier League sides should ensure that they are kept up to date with proceedings – as Isco would be a real coup for the English league.
