The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern seem to be calming down over Antonio Conte’s future at the club and are now switching their focus back onto the players the Italian will be bringing in.
And with that in mind, reports from Spain are claiming that the former Juventus manager could be returning to a player he approached in January.
Catalan newspaper Sport report that the Blues are considering a move for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, despite his relegation from the Premier League last season.
The former Barcelona youngster, who has also been linked with a move to London rivals West Ham, was supposedly the subject of a move from Chelsea in the January window, but ended up staying at the Riverside.
Our landlord reckons that, while there is significant potential in Traore, there is little reason that the Premier League champions should be making a move for the winger who, despite his abundance of pace, lacks any real end product. He even thinks it might be a bit of a push to get in West Ham’s starting eleven.
Chelsea fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think there is any merit in a move for Traore? Let us know in the comments…
