Chelsea set to complete shock deal for this ex-West Ham ace?

greenChelsea fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are staring at the bar in disbelief at what they have just read in Metro – with the publication claiming that the Blues are close to completing a deal for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green.

Jose Mourinho’s side are set to let veteran keeper Petr Cech leave Stamford Bridge this summer, subsequently meaning the London club will be looking to add a new back-up goalkeeper this summer.

As our landlord quips, Rob Green does have a wealth of experience of plying his trade in the Premier League, but whether he has the quality to perform at Stamford Bridge is questionable.

A large group of Chelsea supporters over by the dartboard in the Football Transfer Tavern feel this move is just bizarre, and feel paying £2 million for a 35-year-old is just unnecessary.

Chelsea fans…… What do you make of this news? Would you like to see Green as a backup to Courtois? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
