The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Antonio Conte to find a replacement for John Terry this summer…
The England veteran looks set to leave the club at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract, and whilst he hasn’t played much this season, his role within the squad is key – and he must be replaced.
If the Daily Mail are to be believed, Chelsea may well have identified the man that they want to replace him: Antonio Rudiger. According to the Daily Mail, the Blues will join the likes of Man City and Man Utd in scouting the defender this evening as England take on Germany, with Rudiger set to start.
Indeed, Rudiger certainly fits the bill of a potential John Terry replacement. He is good with the ball at his feet, strong in the air and he is a decent leader. He is also mobile and quick, two traits that Terry didn’t have in his locker for much of his career.
Man Utd also have a move to seek defensive reinforcement, given their lack of options at the back, and so our landlord is expecting a transfer battle this summer for Rudiger.
Chelsea fans – would he be a good signing? Let us know below!
