Our resident Chelsea and Tottenham supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are deliberating the news they’ve just read in the Daily Star – with the publication claiming that the Blues and Spurs are battling it out for the signature of Oostende left-back Jordan Lukaku.
As many people in the Tavern have clocked, Jordan is of course the brother of Premier League striker Romelu Lukaku, and has been in excellent form for Belgian side Oostende.
The 21-year-old is a Belgium international, having made one appearance for the senior side – and it seems that a move to the Premier League could be beckoning.
Our landlord here in the Tavern feels that if Jordan is anything like his brother Romelu, then Spurs or Chelsea are in for a treat, as Romelu is arguably one of the best players in the Premier League!
The resident Chelsea fans here in the Tavern admit they would love to see Jordan Lukaku at Stamford Bridge, and feel the club need to add as much depth to their defensive ranks as possible.
The publication claims that the former Anderlecht defender will cost in the region of £3 million, a sum of money that both Chelsea or Tottenham should be able to stump up!
