Chelsea set to utilise super agent in order to secure deal for 5ft 9 playmaker

GriezmannChelsea supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with smiles on their faces, after reading the news from the Daily Star – which claims that the Blues are set to use the help of super agent Jorge Mendes, to subsequently land Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman has excelled for Atletico Madrid since he joined from Real Sociedad in 2014, and he has managed to accrue 22 goals in 34 appearances for the La Liga club.

The 5ft 9 forward is renowned for his versatility and can operate as a winger or a forward, so he would provide Mourinho with a new dimension to his attacking options next season.

As our landlord quips, the Blues already have a number of top quality attacking players at the club, but the addition of Griezmann would undoubtedly add a new attacking element that could aid them in their pursuit of a second consecutive Premier League title.
