Metro certainly have Chelsea fans on the edge of their bar stools here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that the Blues are ready to agree a transfer worth £23 million.
Spring-heeled Colombian international winger Juan Cuadrado has been heavily linked with a move to West London in recent days and it seems that finally, Chelsea have seen a massive bid for the winger agreed with Serie A side Fiorentina.
Now as one of our punters notes, this will offer the Blues something different in the second half of the season and Jose Mourinho would never turn down the chance to boast another attacking option, although we wonder just what Cuadrado’s arrival would mean for his current squad.
One of our resident Blues fanatics pipes up and claims that Andre Schurrle could well see his career at Stamford Bridge cut short following Cuadrado’s signature.
Given Chelsea are now seemingly trying their utmost to balance their books and sell before they buy new players, we think Jose Mourinho may even consider reducing his valuation on Schurrle’s head despite claiming it would take a ‘phenomenal offer’ for the Blues to part with the German international this month.
Chelsea fans. Is Cuadrado’s arrival worth losing Andre Schurrle over? Do you think £23 million is too much money for essentially a squad player? Let us know your thoughts below.
