Chelsea look to be on their way to a bit of an up and down season, after more or less already relinquishing their Premier League title, and losing out in the League Cup semi-finals this past week to Arsenal.
The Blues and manager Antonio Conte would appear to be going their separate paths in the long term, but despite this notion, the club still need to be taking an active look at their transfer policy and making plans for the summer.
Our landlord thinks the club need to start addressing some of the issues in their squad, with one glaring hole being the amount of young talent who is given a chance. Here in the Tavern, the Blues fans seem to be in agreement, but our landlord thinks there’s a few young talents out there who could change the complexion of the Chelsea squad.
One such player is young Ajax forward Kasper Dolberg, who has shot to prominence in the last 18 months with a series of accomplished performances, not to mention a host of goals – including 16 last term.
Dolberg is just one of many exciting prospects currently plying their trade with the Dutch giants, and he played a key role last season as they narrowly lost out to Manchester United in the Europa League.
However, the 20-year-old is quickly becoming a wanted man, and if Chelsea can steal a march on some of their rivals and secure his signing either now, or in the summer, then they could well have their new number nine for years to come.
Blues fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
