Chelsea should bolster European chances with the signing of 25-year-old performer

The Chelsea supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are getting ready to throw a massive party when their side inevitably reclaims their Barclays Premier League crown in Antonio Conte’s first season in English football.

The champagne has been on ice for a few weeks now here in the Tavern but a win for the Blues at West Bromwich Albion this evening will seal the title for the club and see the cork firmly popped off the bubbly!

With Champions League football back on the agenda for next season, Italian boss Conte knows that he must be busy during the summer transfer window in order to make Chelsea competitive on all fronts during 2017/18.

One player who would be a really popular signing with the Blues faithful would be Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez, with the Colombian looking destined to leave the Spanish giants this summer.

The 25-year-old would represent a real coup for Chelsea and his arrival at Stamford Bridge would give the club a real chance of collecting their second Champions League crown next season, whilst it would also ensure that they stole a march on their Premier League rivals in the quest to sign the very best players in world football.

Our landlord is a big follower of the Spanish football on Sky Sports and often shows it on the big screen here in the Tavern. He is of the belief that Rodriguez should have a future at Madrid, although he also thinks that the Spanish club’s loss could be Chelsea’s gain if they can pull off this fantastic transfer.

Chelsea fans, would you welcome the arrival of Rodriguez to the club? Who else should the Blues sign in the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
