Chelsea have been preparing to defender their Premier League title this summer and it has been an intriguing watch from the outside looking in, with the club making big money signings while moving on some young talent.
Antonio Conte was left fuming as the club missed out on number one target Romelu Lukaku, but has stemmed that disappointment somewhat with the signing of Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.
The Blues will be hoping for another successful season though, and our landlord here in the Tavern thinks they won’t be far away from being Premier League champions once again come May.
However, he thinks even more attacking talent could help, and one man he thinks would be a huge asset to the club is current Dortmund man Ousmane Dembele.
The classy French wide forward has looked like a real threat over the last 12 months or so, and has established himself in the France national team ahead of next years World Cup in Russia.
Dembele has pace to burn and can play on either wing as well as through the middle. He is young enough to improve even further too, meaning Chelsea could be making a long term investment in him if they chose to sign him.
With Pedro now ageing slightly and Willian inconsistent at times, another wide forward like Dembele could prove to be the perfect signing for the Blues if they could tempt Dortmund to part ways with their star man.
