Ismaila Sarr caught the eye with a string of impressive displays for Senegal at this summer’s World Cup in Russia. The above report claims that Juventus, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old at work.
Sarr currently plies his trade with Rennes in Ligue 1, and was able to put his pace, trickery and excellent technique to good use by bagging 5 goals and providing 5 assists over the course of the last league campaign.
The winger now looks ready to make the next step up in his career, having shown this summer that he can produce the goods on the greatest stage of all.
Sarr would be a smart signing for the Blues in particular. As talented as the attacking contingent at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal is, it lacks depth, especially in wide areas.
According to The Sun, reporting via Sport, Eden Hazard and Willian are potentially also heading towards Stamford Bridge exits this summer too. In the event of those departures, Sarri would be facing a complete rebuild of his flanks.
Bringing in Sarr would be a great move to create depth in this part of pitch and generate fresh competition for places for the likes of Pedro.
Transfermarkt value the versatile wide man at £12.6 million. If Chelsea could land him for a fee in that region, then he’d represent a very savvy buy with the future in mind.
