Chelsea need to bring in more quality this summer, especially given how poor the Blues have been this season.
Going forward, they’ve lacked the fire and pace that has made them deadly in recent years, and so our landlord thinks that investment in the attack is desperately needed.
One player that could be perfect is Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele, who is rated at £72 million by Transfer Markt. According to RAC1, Barcelona are contacting parties who may be interested in his services, and he could be a decent fit at Stamford Bridge.
Providing fantastic pace, energy and technique, the Frenchman has a number of invaluable qualities going forward.
He’s unique in the context of Chelsea, in that he’s a natural winger. Whilst Eden Hazard and Willian are best used in a more central position, Dembele excels when on the flanks. This means that he excels when pacing down the wings and crossing the ball in, and that would give Antonio Conte another important string in his bow.
That doesn’t mean he’s inefficient playing more centrally. He’s more than able to do that, but he is far more versatile than some of Chelsea’s other forwards.
Eden Hazard has carried Chelsea on his back in recent years, especially going forward, and that needs to stop. In Dembele, the Blues would find a genuine solution to that problem. He won’t be cheap, but for the Blues, he’d be worth every penny. Even if a short-term loan can be established, a move makes sense for the Blues
