Chelsea should look to seal a return to the club for this World Cup winner

Chelsea are back up and running and back in contention in the Premier League, despite a loss to Manchester City last time out.

The Blues and manager Antonio Conte are hoping to replicate the success of last season as they look to win another Premier League title under the Italian. The Stamford Bridge faithful here in the Tavern are feeling confident that success can be acheived, and our landlord is in agreement to some extent.

However, he sees the club as lacking in a bit of depth, especially in attacking areas, and one player he thinks the club could look to seal a return for is former forward Andre Schurrle.

The German World Cup winner has been at Dortmund for just over a year now, and despite failing to impress to the standard he might have wanted, he is still relatively young at 26 and has bags of ability in the locker.

He could well fancy another crack at the Premier League with the Blues and Conte, and should Dortmund decide to move him on, Chelsea could be the ideal destination for him to hone his talents again.

Full of pace and a direct threat playing either flank or down the middle, there’s a sense that Schurrle was never quite given the chance he deserved at the Bridge. The club have a reputation though for bringing players back into the fold who they’ve previously sold, and Schurrle could well be the next in line for this treatment.

Chelsea fans, what do you think? Would you take Schurrle back? Let us know!
