Chelsea should look to sign prolific French striker to enhance Champions League chances

The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern were bitterly disappointed that their side couldn’t complete the league and cup double last weekend, with the Blues losing out 2-1 to London rivals Arsenal in a highly entertaining FA Cup Final.

It was still a magnificent season for Chelsea however and in reclaiming the league title they relinquished two seasons ago they sent out a message that they will be a real force under the stewardship of Italian boss Antonio Conte.

With the club set to embark on Champions League football once more next season it seems only natural that the club will look to sign some new players, whilst some others could also depart Stamford Bridge over the next couple of months.

One area of the pitch that Chelsea could need strengthening in is up front, especially if Diego Costa departs the club with the Spaniard linked heavily with a return to Atletico Madrid.

One man who would slot in for Costa just nicely is Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, with the Frenchman set to depart Ligue 1 during the summer months after a scintillating goal haul last season.

The 26-year-old is still at a good age to offer potential to improve and his goalscoring record speaks for itself in France, which makes interest from a club of Chelsea’s stature all the more viable.

A couple of Blues supporters are sat chilling in the Tavern and they are of the belief that Lacazette should be signed at all costs, stating that Europe’s best strikers should be exactly the sort of players that the club are perusing this summer.

Chelsea fans, would you welcome Lacazette to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
