Chelsea should look to sign this £50m-rated former Newcastle United man in January

Chelsea have made a superb start to the Premier League season, with four wins from four under new manager Sarri.

The Blues will be hoping to build on this start after the international break, and will be confident of keeping up a challenge for the title following the excellent start to the campaign.

Many expected Chelsea to take time in adjusting to the ways of Sarri, but it has been far from that, and the Blues look more than capable of being able to challenge the likes of City and Liverpool for the crown at the end of the season.

However, new signings might well be a must come January, and one player we at the Tavern think could be a superb addition is former Newcastle midfielder Florian Thauvin.

The £50m-rated French midfielder was part of the squad which won the World Cup over the summer, and looks a far cry from the player we saw on Tyneside just a few seasons ago.

However, Thauvin is now a quality player, capable of playing on both wings or even as a number ten, and with the futures of the likes of Eden Hazard and Willian still up for debate, signing someone like Thauvin would be a shrewd move by the Blues.

Quick, tricky, and capable in front of goal, Thauvin would be an excellent addition to the squad the Bridge as they look for success under their new gaffer.

Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
