Chelsea struggled to a midweek draw with Southampton on Wednesday night as the Blues once again showed the weaknesses which mean they probably won't be winning much silverware this term.

Mauro Sarri's men have shown glimpses at times during the season that they might well be contenders, but attacking issues and a lack of creativity in certain areas of the pitch has meant results have dropped off at times for the Blues.

With the Chelsea squad having a few ageing stars among the ranks, the Blues will be looking to make some solid additions in either this window or the next, and with Cesc Fabregas one of those players who looks to be on his way out of the club, we think Chelsea should be looking at signing Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet.

The Sampdoria ace has come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons, becoming a key man for the Italian side and playing his way into the international line-up with some stirring displays in the middle of the park.

Praet, who is still only 24, already holds a value of £24.5m on Transfermarkt and looks like he has the ability to go on and get even better.

With Fabregas looking more and more likely to leave the Blues, a replacement is a must, and Praet could well slot into the void left by the Spaniard.

A regular this term and a player who could and should get more goals and assists to his name, Praet could well flourish at Chelsea given the chance, and could form a brilliant midfield trio alongside the likes of Kante and Jorginho.

Chelsea fans, what do you think? Would Praet offer anything to your club? Let us know in the comments!
