Chelsea are in the news of late for what many see as all the wrong reasons, as the rumour mill circles over the head of manager Antonio Conte and if he can keep his job beyond the winter period of the Premier League.
The Blues are struggling to put together any sort of consistent form, but did defeat Man United last time out with an excellent performance to send Stamford Bridge home happy heading into the international break this weekend.
Our landlord here at the Tavern thinks that Chelsea needn’t panic with Conte, and he thinks they just need to give him a bit more time and back him in January with some more players to yield the success that the club saw last season under the Italian.
One player who has been impressing our gaffer and fans at the bar in the Tavern has been Huddersfield midfield general Aaron Mooy.
The Australian made his move to the Terriers permanent in the summer and has so far looked one of the most assured central midfielders in the Premier League as Huddersfield have surprised many with their performances under David Wagner.
Mooy though is not just a good player in a small team, he genuinely has the quality to be on of the game’s top midfielders. His performances for his country prove his ability at the top level, and his recent display against Manchester United further enhanced his growing reputation in the game.
Chelsea could do with more in the middle of the park, and instead of spending huge sums on relative unknowns, buying Mooy would ensure a reliable midfielder who no doubt has a point to prove for a top four club in the Premier League.
Blues fans, what do you make of Mooy? Would he fit in? Let us know in the comments!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
