Chelsea should turn to this 38-year-old to help retain the Premier League title – agreed?

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rather excited today…

The return of the Premier League is on the horizon, and a recent report from the Sun has left the supporters in the pub ordering another celebratory drink.

The topic of discussion in the report by the Sun is Andrea Pirlo, formerly of Juventus and AC Milan, and currently of New York City FC – and his announcement that he is set to retire at the end of the current MLS season. He has revealed that he could work with Antonio Conte in the future, and that has left fans feeling very excited indeed.

Pirlo, of course, is one of Europe’s best players of all time, and he has been pulling the strings in the midfield for a variety of clubs for as long as most of the fans in the pub can remember.

Indeed, whilst there is no evidence of a deal being done in the report, it’s certainly a popular move in the pub. Chelsea, of course, are keen to retain their title this term, and his leadership, experience and quality could do wonders for a side that are not expected to reach such heights over the coming months.

It’s opened up a lot of debate in the pub, and so our landlord wants to expand the discussion and see what all of the other Chelsea fans think.

Would it be a good move?
