Chelsea simply have to make a summer move for this £54m-rated World Cup ace

Chelsea are looking to get back on their feet this summer and make some squad improvements, and our fans here in the Tavern are hoping for some clarity from the club’s board over the coming weeks.

The Blues need to add some quality to the ranks, and after a poor January window saw them add poor additions such as Ross Barkley, the club will be hopeful of landing some big names this time around.

Here in the Tavern, our landlord thinks a few new strikers should be on the shopping list, and he thinks that the club should make a move for German striker Timo Werner this summer, a player who is valued at £54m by website Transfermarkt.

Werner has seen his stock rise over the last few seasons and once again was in impressive goalscoring form last term, knocking in 21 goals in all competitions. A fully fledged member of the German squad now, Werner will no doubt get his move to one of the giants of the game at some point, and he could well be on the move if he makes an impression during the World Cup.

Chelsea have struggled to get the best out of Alvaro Morata, and signing someone in the mould of Werner who can lead the line for years to come, could be a masterstroke by the Blues management.

Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
