Our Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are keeping a close eye on the action at the World Cup this summer and will be hopeful of making some big name signings when the tournament is done.
Our landlord is hoping the Blues do indeed go out and make some big money signings, and he thinks that despite a poor January window, the club can rectify it with a strong summer this time around.
One player who our landlord thinks the club should move for this summer is Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez, who is midway through a two-year spell with Bayern Munich, but could well be tempted to make a more permanent move if it was right for him.
Rodriguez lit up the World Cup back in 2014, ultimately earning himself the move to the Spanish capital, but it has surprisingly not worked out for the classy attacking midfielder, who struggled to nail down a regular place at the Bernabeu.
He is however still a class act, capable of performing on the world stage and winning games with moments of brilliance.
Deadly from free kicks, lethal in and around the box, and someone who is confident with the ball at his feet, Rodriguez would be a superb piece of business by Chelsea if they could convince him to make the move to England.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
