Chelsea are not the most world renowned club when it comes to developing and playing young players, and under Antonio Conte, it’s not looking like changing any time soon.
The Blues have been spending big bucks for years now in transfer windows, and despite possessing a whole host of top young talent in their ranks, there’s still some scrutiny placed on the club by football fans and pundits alike, with many young players simply being loaned out or sold on before being given a chance.
Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks the Blues are missing a trick at the moment in allowing new England man Ruben Loftus-Cheek out on loan with Crystal Palace, and he thinks it’s key that they get the midfielder in the first team next season or risk losing him.
The midfield ace put in an excellent performance on his England debut this week and is set to play again for his country against Brazil this week, which will be the ultimate test for the youngster.
Loftus-Cheek looks to have all the potential in the world and Chelsea need to make sure they keep him. If he isn’t involved in the team next season then he will surely leave, and the Blues will once again come under the microscope for allowing a top young English talent out of their grasp.
