Chelsea skipper continues stand-off with Premier League giants

terryChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been split through the middle due to one debate in the bar this evening, which concerns one of their long-serving players keeps raising.

The Sun says that John Terry has criticised the club he captains, believing he should be offered a new deal despite the fact that no long-term manager has been appointed.

Terry made back pages last week after he announced that he would be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with Chelsea not yet offering an extension on his current deal that expires this summer.

Chelsea have insisted that the decision has not been made yet, preferring to leave that decision to whoever comes in to lead the Blues next year, but Terry doesn’t feel that’s a valuable reason and has continued to criticise the club. A source said:

“John does not agree that they have to wait for a new manager before deciding whether he should get another deal. He has to make plans and there is no indication when the permanent manager will be appointed.”

“He is not doing anything wrong by revealing he has no new offer. He is perfectly entitled to say so.”
