Chelsea skipper sounded out by Qatari club?

John TerryChelsea fans are looking far from impressed here in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord tells us about the latest claim coming from the Daily Star.

The publication seem to be under the impression that John Terry has been sounded out by Michael Laudrup managed Qatari club Lekhwiya who are eyeing a move for the Blues skipper.

As one of our punters notes, the money on offer in Qatar is obviously a massive lure, but the fact that Terry is considered to be ‘Mr Chelsea’ and a potential future manager of the club surely means that he will honour his one year contract extension with the club.

Of course, the fact that Jose Mourinho is bringing in new, younger players must also play a part in the decision making of Terry, and it is thought that he would consider an offer this time next year after his deal with Chelsea has ended.

After seeing Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole leave, our Blues fans are not keen on another long serving player being shown the door and seem to think that Terry should stay for life!

Chelsea fans. Would you be able to get over another one of your golden generation of players leaving? Let us know your thoughts below.
