It looks like being a glorious weekend for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern according to Sky Sports.
The publication have claimed that the Blues skipper John Terry could well be set to pen a new deal with the club and of course end his career at Stamford Bridge.
One of our punters notes over a beer that Terry sees Chelsea as him home, and after the form of the defender this season, not to mention the fact that Jose Mourinho is in charge, a new deal is a formality.
The one thing we have been slightly concerned with was the fact that Chelsea were reportedly asking Terry to take a 50 per cent pay cut, and whilst the player would not exactly have been on the bread line, it is not something Terry or his agent were particularly keen on.
Despite these reports, it seems that coach Steve Holland has claimed that Terry will be penning that new deal, and the Stamford Bridge faithful do not need to worry over the future of their ‘captain leader legend’.
Holland, taking Mourinho’s place in the pre-match presser, noted: “I know that John wants to stay at Chelsea, and Chelsea want John to stay, so hopefully that situation can be concluded amicably over the next few weeks.”
Do you think Mr Chelsea will see out his career at the club? Let us know your thoughts below.
