Sky Sports have interested Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication have claimed that on loan forward Romelu Lukaku has finally accepted that parent club Chelsea will be the ones who decide his future this summer.
Chelsea are yet to decide if they wish to keep Lukaku, send him out on loan again or sell him – but as one of our punters claims, Lukaku himself will only ask for one thing – the chance to play regular football.
Despite his scintillating form this season for Everton, Lukaku does not seem to have convinced Jose Mourinho and we think that it may well be the case that Lukaku is sold should a bid of around £20 million come in for his services.
The World Cup is of course drawing ever closer, and a good tournament for the Belgian forward will see his value rise and Chelsea most likely willing to cash-in on that and reinvest the money in a summer of change at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku was asked about his future and claimed: “I still have a contract until 2016 at Chelsea and I think they’re happy about the way I’m developing.
“They have the last word, so we shall see what’s happening next.”
Do you think that Lukaku has what it takes to make it at Stamford Bridge or will an expensive name come in and take his place? Let us know your thoughts below.
