Metro have a rather interesting story for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They claim that Kevin De Bruyne is heading closer to the exit door at the club with each passing day.
The Belgian midfielder’s future has been something that we have constantly speculated about with our landlord over the last few weeks and now it seems that he could finally be set to make a move this winter.
Despite having a good spell on loan at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen last term, De Bruyne has failed to make an impact on the Chelsea first team.
Whilst the likes of Ramires have positively excelled under Jose Mourinho, the young Belgium international has stalled.
It is another German club who are thought to be leading the chase for the starlet, with Bayer Leverkusen willing to make a bid once the January transfer window opens in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho has made it very clear that he is fast losing patience with certain members of his underperforming squad and is willing to start what he sees as a lengthy rebuilding process this January.
Several names have been linked with the exit door and a clear out certainly looks on the cards, be it in January or the summer.
As one of our punters quips, given the Blues’ awful form at times, you can’t really blame Jose!
Will De Bruyne get his move? Let us know your thought below.
