Chelsea supporters are decidedly mixed over the latest news arriving in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The Mirror reports that Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel could make a summer move to Inter Milan as he looks to end his eight year stint at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian international reportedly came very close to leaving the Blues during the summer and he has now fallen further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has only made nine starts this term struggling behind Ramires, Frank Lampard and Nemanja Matic in central midfield.
Now reports in the tavern indicate that he is being eyed up by the San Siro giants in a £12.3 million transfer as Walter Mazzarri looks to freshen up his Nerazzurri outfit.
Inter have faced a difficult season and are currently 11 points off the Champions League places leaving new president Erick Thohir eager to make his mark.
It is likely that Inter will be able to spend big in the summer with Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic reportedly on their radar also. It appears that Mikel could well be joining the Serbian star in northern Italy next season.
We think that this is a story that could have legs but do you think it is time for Chelsea to let Mikel leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
