Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have long abandoned this season to look at the bigger picture and the lads ordering a new round have expressed their concern about a piece of news that will effect the start of next season.
Metro quote Blues ace Willian as expressing his intention to feature for Brazil in both the Copa America and Olympic games this summer, which would see the midfielder return late for the start of the season and endure a busy summer.
Willian has been a vital figure for Chelsea this season, particularly in the club’s revival from their woeful start, and the Blues will be keen to have the player available for the start of the season.
However, if Willian gets his wishes then the 27-year-old could return late and jaded for the fresh term but he’s determined to feature for his national side in both competitions.
‘Everyone knows my desire to play both championships. But of course we do not want to fight and put Chelsea in a difficult situation. And I do not want to fight with the Brazil Football Confederation. I hope they and Chelsea enter into an agreement about my release.’
Our landlord fees incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will have the final decision, although he’s adamant any situation will leave at least one party unhappy.
