Metro have a claim that our punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are rather interested in hearing.
The publication note that Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o does not seem particularly bothered about the jibe Jose Mourinho made regarding his age.
We had thought that the Cameroonian forward would not exactly take too kindly to it.
Punters had surmised that there could well be a stand off between the player an his manager and that Eto’o could even be looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge.
However, after Eto’o was asked about the comments, he claimed: “I am Samuel Eto’o, what can I say?
“If at 36 and 37 I can score three goals at Manchester United it means that I still have some juice and I can even score until I am 50.
“But I really don’t care, what is really important to me is to give my maximum to the team, to help them to win some titles.”
Clearly the relationship between the former Inter Milan forward and Mourinho is as strong as ever, and after the goal from Fernando Torres last night, we think that the Spaniard is obviously on good terms with the Special One as well!
Do you think that Torres, Eto’o and Ba will be around at Stamford Bridge next season though? We have our doubts. Let us know your thoughts below.
