There is pleasing news for Chelsea fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Caught Offside that Florent Malouda is finally set to end his nightmare with the club.
The winger is set for a return to Lyon after being cast out by the club at the start of the season after refusing to apologise to Roberto Di Matteo and never recovered his place in the first team being made to train with the youngsters and also having his parking space taken from him and locker cleared out to boot.
To his credit, the player who was on an £80,000 per week deal kept his attitude up throughout the nightmare season and helped the young academy players whenever he could.
Now it seems a return to Lyon could be on the cards and given the fact Malouda is desperate to play first team football again after keeping his training and fitness up, it seems he could well finally get the chance he feels is deserved.
The player himself claimed: “I had a problem to sort out with certain people. It’s done. Now, I’m free.
“I’m going to be able to play again next season and I cannot wait. I’ve been preparing all year long. I’ll be back next season.”
