Chelsea star set for Serie A loan spell next season?

It's time for Fernando Torres to move onChelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are preparing themselves for the loss of Fernando Torres.

Chelsea are believed to be shipping out a lot of so-called ‘deadwood’ players this summer as they plan to spend big money to challenge for an assault on the Premier League next season.

The Daily Mail claim that Torres is the first out the door and Italian outfit Inter Milan are said to be keen suitors.

Inter have reportedly put a plan together that involves an initial season-long loan with a view to a permanent £10 million deal.

But wage negotiations could prove a major stumbling block with Inter’s budget of £3 million well below what he currently earns at Stamford Bridge.

It had been thought that Torres was going to be heading back to Spain, with a deal that involved swapping the 30-year-old in a player plus cash deal for long-term Chelsea target Diego Costa.

But that deal has lost momentum somewhat after Costa helped fire Atletico Madrid into the Champions League Final at the expense of the Blues.

The Spanish side are also on the cusp on winning the La Liga title and it’s believed that Diego Simeone wants Costa to stay for one more season – meaning that any potential Torres transfer could be put on hold.
