There is no surprise on the faces of punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern after The Sun noted Romelu Lukaku is still unsure of his future.
The publication note that the Chelsea striker does not know where his future lies after a trip to Brazil for the World Cup as Belgium’s main man up top.
Chelsea have not made up their minds over the player who of course spent this season on loan at Everton, excelling and indeed making a fair few people question exactly why he was allowed to leave in the first place.
The forward’s agent was asked about his client’s future post-Brazil and noted: “For the moment, Romelu belongs to Chelsea.
“He has two years left on his contract. It’s going to depend on Chelsea. After that, we’ll see together what the best options are if Chelsea decide to let him go.”
He also made the point that Chelsea will be looking to bring in at least one man up top next term, claiming: “They want to bring in a big-name striker and that has been well-documented.
“But Chelsea need lots of great strikers. And if there are too many, they’ll choose to allow Romelu to leave.
“But if they think there aren’t enough forwards, perhaps Romelu will say, ‘I’m interested in prolonging the adventure’ but it’s still too soon.”
