Here in the Football Transfer Tavern our punters are looking up with interest at the latest claim from the Daily Mail.
The publication notes that Samuel Eto’o has made eyes at a possible career ending spell in Spain with Mallorca.
Our punters note at this point that the Cameroonian forward is not exactly a spring chicken and despite registering a hat-trick at the weekend, he has largely been disappointing for Jose Mourinho’s side.
It remains to be seen whether this proposed move back to his former club will actually come to fruition but the Blues will need Eto’o now more than ever with the fact that Fernando Torres is out injured.
The forward spoke about his love for Spain and noted: “I’ll always like Barca, but I prefer Mallorca.
“My son has pressured me to finish (my career) there. My son is from Mallorca.”
The three-times Champions League winner also admitted there was plenty he missed about life in Spain, adding: “I miss everything from there. I miss my team-mates, my friends, Barcelona, the weather, the ham, everything…
“At the moment, it’s one season and I intend to enjoy it, then we’ll see.”
Our punters reckon Eto’o will only spend the one (current) season at Stamford Bridge. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
