Chelsea fans are so eager to hear what Metro have to say about Andre Schurrle that they have nearly created a stampede towards the bar here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The World Cup winner could well find himself sold in January after the Blues and their manager Jose Mourinho decided to pursue Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus and in keeping with their new plan of balancing the books, the club could well allow the German to leave.
As Mourinho has noted in the past, Schurrle has a huge amount of talent but can be unpredictable at times and claimed: “Sometimes he plays phenomenal. Other times plays so-so. But when he plays phenomenal, he is phenomenal.”
Our regulars have to agree but we think that if the league leaders were to sell anyone to accommodate Reus, it should be Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah who has proved a disappointing signing.
Given the £25 million release clause in the contract Schurrle currently has, we think it could be a busy winter for the German international star!
Chelsea fans. Would selling Schurrle prove a mistake on the Blues’ part? Do you believe you’ll manage to complete the signing of Marco Reus? Let us know your thoughts below.
