After the euphoria of getting into the Champions League semi-finals has worn off a touch for Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, they turn their attentions to the latest claim from Metro.
The publication is not exactly popular with Blues fans today, as it seems to think that in order for him to progress as a player, Eden Hazard needs to leave the club.
Not exactly great news given the tricky winger is one of the best players in the Blues squad at the minute.
Hazard has of course been linked with Paris Saint-Germain rather heavily- and it is the French side he is being urged to join by his Belgian national team manager.
Marc Wilmots, who is now one of our least favourite managers, noted: “It’s an opportunity to be taken into serious consideration if he wants to be part of the category of players who make the difference.
“It’s time to raise his level. Hazard and Ibrahimovic are two different players – but highly complementary.”
As one of our punters points out, quite how you can raise your level by joining a team your current side recently despatched from the Champions League remains to be seen, but perhaps Wilmots’ mind works rather differently to ours.
Do you think Hazard should leave a team in the best league in the world with the best manager for the relaxing life in Paris? Let us know your thoughts below.
